On Friday 11th October ilarna were delighted to have attended the NSPCC’s 140th Birthday Ball held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, hosted by the NSPCC’s West Midlands Business Board.
It was a fantastic night filled with laughter, smiles and some tears for stories shared by those the charity has had a personal and deep impact on. It was emotional yet incredibly empowering to hear some of the stories, meet the people and hear of the direct impact the charity has had on hundreds of young lives across the country; a reminder of why the charity campaigns and fights on a daily basis.
The evening was hosted by some of Birmingham’s best-known faces; Marverine Cole and PJ Ellis. Marverine is best known for her appearances on Good Morning Britain and is an award-winning journalist and television presenter. PJ Ellis is a British television star turned radio presenter, who has a passion for all things Birmingham.
An evening sponsored by some of the most influential names and brands within Birmingham all donating a variety of exciting prizes to be won during the auction, one of ilarna’s guests was lucky enough to win a VIP package to visit Aston Villa and enjoy a wonderful meal! As a football fan, it was delight to win!
As a whole the evening finished by raising a wonderful £40,500. That amount of money is life changing for hundreds of young, vulnerable children right in the heart of our city. ilarna are delighted to have been invited and be included in raising such a monumental amount and supporting our home in as many ways as we possibly can.
We’d like to extend a warm thank you to the NSPCC’s West Midlands Business Board for inviting us and allowing us to make a difference!
